Congress defaming country when it has improved standing in the world : BJP

New Delhi, Nov 8 (IBNS) : Attacking the Congress for defaming India whenever its standing in the world increases, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday alleged that the opposition party, which did nothing positive during its rule, was creating an atmosphere of gloom and misleading the people.

Posting a series of tweets on the day of the second anniversary of demonetisation, the BJP said the Congress has been in a "state of denial" to overlook the increase in GDP and the country's elevated positions on different index while coming out with protests every anti-corruption move of the Government. It also posed ten questions to the Congress.

"Why is it that whenever India’s standing in the world increases the Congress takes to defaming India and creating an atmosphere of gloom to mislead the people," a tweet of the BJP asked.

"Is the Congress party living in a state of denial that it cannot see the surge in GDP numbers, the ‘Ease of Doing Business Rankings’ and Global Competitiveness Index? Why are they unhappy that India’s economic prowess is being recognized world over?

"What sort of politics and anti-development mindset is this of the Congress that opposes a bold move that has widened the tax base?" the party asked.

In another tweet, the BJP said Congress leader  Anand Sharma had personally opposed demonetisation on the floor of Parliament. But in reality, India has seen an increase of more than two crore tax returns in the last two years. " Is this why you were opposed to demonetisatio?"

The party asked why is the Congress opposing demonetisation which has "led to formalisation of the economy, which has empowered them". "An informal economy means exploitation of the poor and the marginalized, many of whome came from lower middle class."

Without naming former Union Finance Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram, the BJP asked how can he, "himself under radar of investigating agencies for massive corruption involving land, cash and foreign bank accounts, speaking on policy matters? With what face?

"Why is it that wherever black money is there, the Congress is not far behind?, the BJP asked.

It asked while the Congress was speaking about small business, what did the party-led UPA Government do for the sector."Did the UPA think of this sector even once? Except tax terror, raid raj and arbitrary policies, what did Congress do for small businesses?
