Coimbatore : Five youths arrested for plotting to kill Hindu leaders

Coimbatore, Sept 3 (IBNS) : Five men have been arrested in Coimbatore in  Tamil Nadu allegedly for plotting to kill two Hindu leaders and create communal discord in the state, media reports said.

Police informed on Monday that the five were arrested on Saturday following intelligence inputs about their presence and intention. They had come to Coimbatore to attend the wedding of a convict out on parole, NDTV said.

Five sickles have been found on them, the police told NDTV.

Police claimed that the five have connections withe the ISIS outfit in Jammu and Kashmir.

The group was planning to create instability and disrupt communal harmony around Ganesh Chaturthi, on September 13, NDTV quoted investigators as saying.
