New Delhi, June 5 (IBNS): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between CISF and National Skill Development Cooperation (NSDC) on Monday to develop skills amongst the retiring/retired personnel of CISF, their families, students and Low Medical Category personnel at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Minister of State (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju were present on the occasion.

Senior Officers of NSDF, NSDC, Other CAPFs, CISF personnel and their families were also present on the occasion.

The proposed centers have been selected keeping in view the regional conduciveness of the skills, ease of imparting training in the particular area and availability of particular infrastructure with the CISF and most importantly the demand for such skills and subsequently the products.

Around 500 personnel will be imparted training in first phase of the training programme. Thereafter, key trained personnel will be detailed to impart such training to others from time to time. In this line, CISF will contribute to achieve the goal of ‘Skilled India’.

O P Singh, DG CISF in his welcome address stressed that this project will help families of CISF personnel and retiring/retired/low medical category personnel in acquiring skills for economic benefits as well as facilitates their resettlement/re-habilitation. Simultaneously CISF would be contributing majorly in enhancing the skilling initiative and potential which is the raison-d’etre of the national skill mission.

Addressing the gathering, Rudy appreciated the initiative taken by CISF.

He said that the MoU signed by his Ministry and CISF will go a long way in providing platform to the CISF personnel to develop and build expertise in the areas covered in the MoU.

While addressing, Rijiju said that every possible help and support will be given to CISF in accomplishing the mission of ‘Skilled India’. He also said that the force has always played a positive and encouraging role in promoting national vision and solidarity.
