China welcomes PM Modi's remarks on Indo-China ties
A spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry on Monday said: "We have noted the positive remark made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the China-India (situation). We welcome that."
"It is true that we have a border dispute with China. But in the last 40 years, not a single bullet has been fired because of it," she said, while speaking about the border dispute.
PM Modi during his visit to Russia recently stressed on border dispute with China.
"The two major countries China and India maintaining sound and steady bilateral relationship is of great significance," she added.
In a recent interview to Russia Television, PM Modi said: "The 21st century is the century of Asia. it means that both India and China will influence the situation of the world in the coming decades."
The remarks gained significance because very recently India boycotted the One Belt One Road (OBOR) Summit in 2017 over sovereignty issues over the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
China's Assistant Foreign Minister Li Huilai, favouring the dialogues between the Indian Prime Minister and Chinese President said that the healthy relations between the two nations would certainly benefit Asia.
Modi has recently visited Russia where he urged all nations to come and invest in India.
While speaking at the St Petersberg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2017, PM Modi invited the world and said: "I invite you all to come to India for the sake of development and change of fortune."
Modi even uttered the words like "sky is the limit", seeking foreign investments in the country.
