Kolkata, Oct 18 (IBNS): Police on Saturday arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a three-and-a-half-year old child in Kolkata, reports said.
According to reports, the victim girl- Preeti Naskar- went missing since last Monday and was found dead with severe laceration from the terrace of her uncle's house nearby at Shibtala area near Mahish Get under New Town police station in Kolkata on Wednesday morning.

Police had detained her uncle Shankar Naskar, aunt Kabita Naskar, grandmother Arati Naskar and a neighbour couple- Bholanath Kushari and Madhumita Kushari from the spot.

After interrogating them for three days, police on Saturday arrested Preeti's aunt Kabita Naskar and grandmother Arati Naskar for their involvement in this murder.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate Shivani Tiwari told IBNS: "We have found sufficient evidence that the murder was committed inside her aunt's house. During interrogation, Preeti's grandmother and aunt have confessed to their involvement. At this movement we don't want to disclose the modus operandi."

However, the arrested persons will be produced in the Barasat Court on Sunday.

"We also have other sufficient evidence which enables us to forward the arrested to court and we will pray for their police custody for further interrogation," ADCP Shivani Tiwari added.
