Cattle smuggling case: After CBI, now ED arrests TMC leader Anubrata Mondal

| @indiablooms | Nov 18, 2022, at 12:45 am

Kolkata/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC) Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal in connection with the cattle smuggling case, media reports said.

Mondal, who was already in jail after being arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was interrogated by the ED on Thursday.

He will be produced in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Friday.

Mondal  was arrested by the CBI from his Bolpur residence back in August.

The TMC strongman was denied bail multiple times.

Supporting Mondal, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee had questioned the leader's arrest alleging political vendetta by the country's ruling party, BJP.
