Burdwan blast: Three arrested in Bangladesh

Kolkata, Dec 1 (IBNS) The police have arrested three suspected militants from Bangladesh's Dhaka city in connection with the Burdwan blast case, media reports said.

They were members of Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) and other Myanmar-based outfits, Krishna Pada Roy, deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.

“We are investigating if they are linked to the JMB,” Krishna Pada Roy said.

The arrested people were identified as  Noor Hossain alis Rafiqul Islam, 26, Yasir Arafat, 22 and Umar Karim.

They were arrested on Sunday.

The Burdwan blast incident had taken place on Oct 2 last at Khagragarh area in Burdwan district when the explosion in a house led to the killing of two bomb makers and discovery of a cache of arms and ammunition. 

Several terror modules were busted following the explosion and its investigation.
