BSP leader cross votes for BJP in Rajya Sabha poll
New Delhi, Mar 23 (IBNS): Creating trouble for Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, one of her party members reportedly cross-voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the ongoing Rajya Sabha election on Friday.
Extending support to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, BSP lawmaker Anil Singh told media, "I am with Maharaj ji," media reports said.
The poll is taking place for 10 Rajya Sabha seats from Uttar Pradesh. Polling is going on also for 16 more seats from six other states.
The BJP, which had secured more than 300 seats in 2017 assembly election, is expected to comfortably win eight out of ten seats.
A tough contest is likely to take place in rest of the two seats.
Recently in two Lok Sabha by-polls, however, the SP and the BSP fought together to defeat the BJP.
