BSF seizes illegal drugs from a house in Tripura

Agartala/UNI: The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a packet containing 2,340 contraband Yaba tablets worth Rs 11.70 lakh from the house of one Badsha Miah (34) in Matinagar area of Western Agartala on Wednesday but failed to arrest anybody in connection with the case.

Based on a tip off, BSF jawans deployed in Rayermura BOP raided the house and found the consignment concealed in a packet, a BSF release said today.

However, the owner of the house managed to flee from the spot.

In yet another joint operation with forest officials and police, BSF jawans carried out a search operation in forest area of Banstala village of Sepahijala and seized six cubic metres of round timber, a Saw machine, a Generator and a Bolero pick-up having combined value of Rs 9.40 lakh.

Earlier, Tripura police disposed Brown Sugar worth Rs 20 lakh at Bodhjungnagar of Agartala. Altogether 470 gram of Brown Sugar has been destroyed by the police after obtaining disposal order from Court.
