Bribed AAP's Satyendar Jain for protection in jail: Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar
Jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has alleged that he was forced to pay Rs 10 crore to AAP leader Satyendar Jain as protection money.
He has also claimed that he paid more than Rs 50 crore to AAP for an important post in the party in the south and a Rajya Sabha seat.
AAP has trashed both the allegations made by the conman in a letter written to Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on October 7.
In the letter, Sukesh Chandrashekhar also claimed that he has known the Delhi minister since 2015 and the AAP leader visited him in jail several times.
Delhi CM and AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the contents of the letter were "completely fictitious" and an attempt to turn people's attention from the Morbi bridge tragedy ahead of the Gujarat elections.
"The Morbi tragedy occurred the day before yesterday. All TV channels raised this issue yesterday but it disappeared today, and Sukesh Chandrasekhar's allegations appeared. Doesn't this look like a completely fictitious story planted to divert attention from Morbi?" Kejriwal told reporters, according to NDTV.
Kejriwal said BJP was panicking as AAP has emerged as its contender in the upcoming polls.

"They are so desperate that they are using a conman to plant fake news against Satyendar Jain. They also tried to frame Manish Sisodia accusing him of a liquor scam," he said.
He also warned the media claiming that it was a set-up to divert its attention from the Morbi bridge tragedy.
Sharing the screenshots of Sukesh Chandrashekhar's letter, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, "It is learned from news that there has been a thuggery in the house of the thug. And the name of the thug is Sukesh Chandrashekhar. And the person who cheated the thug is Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendra Jain."
In the letter, the conman alleged that Jain extorted Rs 10 crore from him in 2019 to ensure his safety in jail and also severely threatened and harassed him, according to the report.
He also claimed to have paid Rs 12.50 crore to Sandeep Goel, Director General (Prisons).
Sukesh Chandrasekhar has been in jail since 2017 over charges of extorting money from high-profile personalities, including industrialists and celebrities.
Satyendar Jain has been in jail after he was arrested in May over money laundering allegations.
