BJP’s fake Hindutva did not work in Karnataka: Shiv Sena's Saamana

Mumbai: The BJP’s fake Hindutva did not work in Karnataka and the Kannada people have shown the direction of what will happen in the country in the year 2024 during the general elections, the Shiv Sena (UBT) said Monday after the saffron party lost the assembly elections in the southern state.

An editorial in the party mouthpiece 'Saamana' said that the people in Karnataka defeated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a big way in this election and this is an auspicious sign for the country for which the people of Karnataka should be congratulated, it further said.

The Congress party crossed the majority mark in Karnataka polls, and the BJP, the world’s largest party, hung on the figure of 65, it was stated.

In Karnataka, the Congress has wrested away the only southern state from the BJP, the editorial said.

It further said the BJP’s defeat was inevitable in Karnataka and praised the Congress leadership in the state for staying united despite differences within the party.

“The Congress was united in Karnataka. Although there were differences between the leaders, they did not reveal them during the election. Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah, who aspired to be the chief minister, left everything to the high command and threw themselves into the campaign,” the editorial added.
