BJP trying to steal another Thackeray to win election in Maharashtra, says Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday accused the Bhartiya Jantha Party (BJP) of trying to 'steal' another 'Thackeray' to win the Lok Sabha elections.

Thackeary's comments came in the wake of his cousin and MNS chief Raj Thackeray meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi during the day.

Addressing a gathering in Nanded district, Uddhav said he is not bothered if the BJP takes him (Raj) on board.

Uddhav further said BJP knew very well that it won't get votes in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Maharashtra as people vote in the name of late Balasaheb Thackeray here. This realisation has prompted the BJP to "try to steal leaders".

He also accused the BJP of trying to usurp his father and Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray's legacy.

"'First, they stole Bal Thackeray's picture, but it doesn't matter, and today, they are trying to steal another Thackeray," he added.
