BJP names new face for Latur LS poll

Latur, Maharashtra, Mar 22 (UNI) The BJP has denied ticket to the sitting MP of Latur Sunil Gaikwad and fielded a new face Sudhakar Shringare to contest from the Latur (SC) constituency for the Lok Sabha election to be held on April 18.

The BJP central election committee declared names of 184 Lok Sabha candidates on Thursday night.

Shringare is a Zilla Parishad member and also a close aide to Labour and Guardian Minister Sambhaji Patil-Nilangekar.

He is from Gharani village in Chakur taluka of Latur district and is a member of ZP from Vadwal Nagnath Zilla Parishad group.

The sitting MP Gaikwad won the last election against the Congress nominee Dattatrya Bansode by 2.5 lakh votes.
