BJP Govt. defends PM Modi over Parliament attendance

| | Dec 03, 2014, at 08:14 pm
New Delhi, Dec 3 (IBNS) Amid allegations by Opposition, especially the Trinamool Congress, that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was more abroad that in India and was not attending Parliament, the ruling BJP on Wednesday hit back saying the PM will come to the House only when needed.

After TMC Rajya Sabha member Derek O'Brien took a jibe at the PM saying "please grant a visa to the Prime Minister of India to come to the Rajya Sabha," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said: "When it's needed for the PM to attend house he will he came to Parliament today."

"The PM has his responsibilities, he is doing his work," said Naidu.

"If needed the PM will speak, when it's his turn during the question hour he will be there. The PM is doing his job, the people are happy, only the opposition is unhappy, what can we do?" he said.

TMC even took a dig at the PM saying that India does not need a foreign minister with Modi himself travelling abroad always.
