BJP fields Pradan Baruah for Lakhimpur, Mansing Rongpi for Baithalangso by-poll

Guwahati, Oct 27 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday fielded Pradan Baruah from the Assam's Lakhimpur parliamentary constituency where the by-election is necessitated after Sarbananda Sonowal became Assam Chief Minister.

On the other hand, the saffron party has fielded Dr Mansing Rongpi from the state’s Baithalangso assembly constituency where the by-poll necessitated after former MLA of Congress Dr Rongpi had joined BJP in August last.

The by-poll in Lakhimpur parliamentary constituency and Baithalangso assembly constituency will be held on November 19.

On Thursday, BJP announced its party candidates for the by-elections to the 13 parliamentary constituencies and assembly constituencies across the country.

The saffron party also fielded Dasanglu Pul, widow of former Arunchal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul, from the state's Hayuliang assembly seat where the by-election is necessitated following his death.

BJP fielded Sista Mohan Das for the by-poll in Tripura’s Barjala assembly constituency and Tapan Kumar Pal from the state’s Khowai assembly constituency.

On the other hand, Congress has fielded former Assam minister Rupam Sing Ronghang from the Baithalangso assembly constituency.
