Thane/UNI: A corporator of the BJP from the city has been booked by the city police on the charge of allegedly molesting a bar singer.

An offence under sections 354-A, 354-D, 323, 504 and 506(2) of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the alleged accused Vilas Kamble with the Thane Nagar police station on Monday, police said and informed that no arrest has been made so far in this connection.

The 32-year-old victim worked as a singer in a bar at Mulund Check Naka, where Kamble used to frequent and he developed a friendship with her, which over a period of time turned physical.

When the victim asked for the marriage, Kamble refused, following which, she filed a case in the Thane court, which is sub-judice.

On Monday, when the victim had come to the court with her sister, Kamble followed her and made gestures towards her.

When she objected to the same, he threatened her with dire consequences and later flashed at her, the complaint stated.

Following this, as the victim could not bear any more of his acts, she filed the complaint, police said and added that it was being investigated.
