BJP candidate in Bengal polls Parno Mittra tests Covid-19 positive

Kolkata/IBNS: Actor-turned Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in the West Bengal assembly elections, Parno Mittra, tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

Parno tweeted, "I wish to share an important update with everyone. I have tested COVID positive .I request Whoever has been in, or come into contact with me in the last 7 days, please do quarantine yourselves, get tested and take care.

"Lastly, please continue to be safe and wear (a) mask."

Due to Covid-19, Parno said she won't be able to cast her vote on Monday though Coronavirus-infected patients have been allowed to exercise their democratic right between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm on the polling day.

Parno's constituency Baranagar went to polls in the earlier phases of prolonged election.
