BJP activists stage demonstration in Aurangabad over Rahul Gandhi's Savarkar remark

Aurangabad/UNI: The BJP activists on Tuesday staged a demonstration here to protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his defaming remark on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

The party activists, along with BJP's Sudhir Naik and Dayaram Basayye, assembled at the Gulmandi and condemned Gandhi's remark on Savarkar.

To display their angst, the agitators even slapped Gandhi's photograph with shoes.

They demanded that Congress senior leaders, including Sonia Gandhi, must look into the matter.

Consequently, Gandhi must resign as a parliamentarian and apologise for his irresponsible remark against Savarkar who laid his life for India's freedom, they added.

Savarkar is the only person in the history to be sentenced to Kala Pani twice by the British. The national icon lived for many years in a dark cell in Andaman, they asserted.
