BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik files nomination for Hinjili Assembly seat

Bhubaneswar, Mar 20 (UNI) BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today filed his nomination papers for Hinjili Assembly seat, his home constituency from where he has been winning the Assembly seat since 2000.

Flanked by ministers and senior party leaders, Patnaik today went to the Chhatrapur Sub Collector office and filed his nomination papers.

Patnaik arrived at Hinjili and straight went to the Tara Tarini temple to seek the blessings of the goddesses. The chief minister then went to the Chhatrapur sub collector office and filed his nomination.

When asked by the media about the prospect of his party in the Lok Sabha and Assembly election, Mr Patnaik said, “we will win plenty of seats”.

He also said soon he would file his nomination paper for Bijepur Assembly seat in Western Odisha.

This will be first time in his 19 years tenure Mr Patnaik will be contesting two assembly seats. He has been consecutively winning the Hinjili Assembly seat since 2000 Assembly elections.

Both Hinjili and Bijepur Assembly seat will go to the poll in the second phase on April 18 next.
