Bihar: RJD protests against note ban

| | Dec 28, 2016, at 10:05 pm
Patna, Dec 28 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Thousands joined the dharna (sit-in) programme organized by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar to protest the demonetisation drive.

In Patna, RJD workers, supporters and leaders formed a human chain from 10, Circular Road—the official residence of RJD chief Lalu Prasad, to the Patna biological park to express their solidarity against the currency ban.

The RJD has declared a war on the notes ban imposed by the Centre, and today’s state-wide dharna was part of RJD strategy to put pressure on the government.

Prasad led one such dharna in Patna. Many party leaders also joined the dharna.

“Modi hatao, desh bachao (Remove Narendra Modi from the throne to save the nation),” Prasad exhorted the masses while addressing the dharna.

However, the Congress and the JD-U stayed away from RJD’s protest programme. Both the parties are coalition partners of the RJD in Bihar.

“RJD is like an ocean and those neglecting the issues of common men are set to face serious consequences,” warned RJD legislator Bhai Birendra.
