Bihar: Notorious criminal killed in gang war

Begusarai/UNI: A dreaded criminal was killed and another injured in a fire exchange between two gangs of outlaws under Chakia police outpost area in the district.

Police said here that one of the most wanted criminals Jathawa was killed during fierce gun battle between the two gangs at Simaria Malhipur Bind Toli late last evening.

Another criminal, identified as Sanjay Mahto, was seriously injured in the incident.

Police said Jathawa, who had established a reign of terror in the district, was involved in the murder of another notorious criminal Arvind Mahto and other unlawful activities.

Sources said Sanjay has been sent to the hospital of Begusarai divisional jail under police custody. and the body to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Further investigation was on, police added.
