Bihar lawmaker Manorama Devi surrenders

Gaya, May 17 (IBNS) Bihar lawmaker Manorama Devi, who went hiding for several days, surrendered on Tuesday.

The Bihar government on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against Janata Dal-U legislator Manorama Devi following the recovery of liquor bottles from her residence in Gaya town.

The ruling JDU suspended Manorama Devi. Her son Rocky Yadav was arrested from a house in Bodh Gaya for murdering a teenager.

She  faces arrest for violating the new prohibition law in Bihar.

The state has been under total prohibition since April 1.

Manorama Devi's son Rocky had allegedly shot dead Aditya Sachadeva, a 19-year-old son of a businessman for overtaking his vehicle.
