Patna, Aug 22 (TheBiharPost/ IBNS ): The CBI on Tuesday filed chargesheet against former RJD MP from Siwan Mohammad Shahabuddin and six other accused in journalist Rajdeo Ranjan murder case.

The chargesheet has been filed under section 302, 120 (B) of the IPC and 27 Arms Act. The CBI says it has enough evidence against the accused persons.

“The journalist was killed for writing news against Shahabuddin and the entire conspiracy was hatched in Siwan jail,” CBI’s special public prosecutor Deep Narayan was quoted as saying in Hindi daily Prabhat Khabar.

The journalist who worked for Hindi daily Hindustan was shot dead by motor-borne shooters in May last year while he was returning to his home from office in the evening.

Initially, the murder was probed by the special investigation team of the Bihar police but later the investigation was handed over to the CBI on request from the victim’s wife Asha Ranjan.
