Patna, Jan 12 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): The state government in Bihar has planned to grant special allowance to doctors posted in the Maoist-affected areas.

As per reports, such doctors will get an extra allowance of Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.

“Doctors posted in naxal-hit areas will be given a special allowance apart from housing facilities,” additional executive officer, State Health Society, Pradeep Kumar Jha told the media on Thursday

To begin with, the facilities will remain available with only six districts, such as Aurangabad, Nawada, Gaya, Jamui, banka and Muzaffarpur but in due course, it will be implemented in other districts as well.

There are a total of 23 districts identified as naxal-affected in Bihar, reports said.

The state government has also planned to arrange housing facilities for the doctors and other health staffs to enable them stay in the areas of their posting and serve the masses in a more effective way.

As per reports, government has decided to construct 64 housing units in 20 districts of Bihar in the first phase. Each housing unit will cost over Rs 14 million.
