Bihar: Farmer beaten to death in clash

Bhagalpur/UNI: A farmer was beaten to death and five others injured in a clash between two groups at Simaria village under Rangra police station area in the district last night.

Police said here today that one Awadhesh Mandal (42) and his family members were attacked with the wooden sticks by Sachitanand Mandal and his supporters leaving him and his five family members seriously injured.

Sources said that Awadhesh breathed his last when he along with his family members was rushed to Naugachhia sub-divisional Hospital.

Police said that Awadhesh and Sachitanand had a long-running dispute over a land property and the former and his family members were ploughing the land when the incident took place. Sources said Sachitanand Mandal and his associate PK Mandal had been taken into custody. The body had been sent for autopsy.
