Bihar Congress VP Brajesh Pandey resigns after molestation charge

Patna, Feb 22 (IBNS) : Bihar Congress Vice President Brajesh Kumar Pandey has resigned from the post after being accused of molesting the minor daughter of a former state minister, also from the Congress.

He tendered his resignation on Tuesday. Pandey’s resignation has been accepted.

The leader was was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act three weeks ago on the basis of a complaint of molestation of the minor, who is also from a Dalit family.

In a letter to Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ashok Kumar Choudhary,  Pandey, however, claimed innocence

The incident had taken place in August, 2016.

Brajesh Pandey's name has been included in the case along with main accused Nikhil Priyadarshi.
