Bihar bureaucrat shot dead during robbery attempt

Patna, Aug 14 (IBNS): A senior Government officer in Bihar was shot dead when unidentified people allegedly tried a robbery in his Patna home in the small hours of Tuesday, NDTV reports.

Rajiv Kumar, an undersecretary rank officer, posted in the Bihar secretariat was at his home when three men barged in reportedly to commit robbery. When thTTe bureaucrat tried to resist, he was shot at.

The 58-year-old officer was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

"Three men entered our home around 3 am, all of them were carrying pistols. They locked us in a room and demanded money from my husband. When he resisted, they shot at him. The bullet pierced through his chest. Then they took money and valuables and fled," NDTV quoted  Rajni Ranjan, the officer's wife.
