Big Railway boost for Madhya Pradesh! New daily train between Itarsi, Jabalpur approved
Indian Railways has approved the introduction of a new daily passenger train between Itarsi and Madan Mahal in Jabalpur, marking a significant step towards strengthening rail connectivity across central Madhya Pradesh.
Train No. 51673/51674 Itarsi-Madan Mahal Passenger will improve travel options for passengers between Itarsi and Jabalpur while providing better rail access to several key intermediate stations along the route.
Train No. 51673 Itarsi-Madan Mahal Passenger will depart from Itarsi Junction at 11:40 hrs and arrive at Madan Mahal at 16:45 hrs. In the return direction, Train No. 51674 Madan Mahal-Itarsi Passenger will leave Madan Mahal at 17:50 hrs and reach Itarsi Junction at 22:55 hrs.
The daily service will cover a distance of 242 km in approximately five hours and five minutes.
The train will have commercial stoppages at Bagra Tawa, Sohagpur, Pipariya, Bankhedi, Salichauka Road, Gadarwara, Kareli, Narsinghpur and Sridham. The stops are expected to improve rail access for passengers travelling between towns and smaller communities along the Jabalpur-Narmadapuram corridor.
The Itarsi-Madan Mahal passenger service is significant not only for point-to-point travel but also for strengthening regional connectivity. The daily service will provide affordable and convenient access to intermediate towns and smaller stations across the Jabalpur-Narmadapuram belt while connecting two important railway nodes—Itarsi and Jabalpur.
The service is expected to particularly benefit middle-class passengers, unreserved travellers and short-distance commuters. It will also serve as an important feeder and distribution link, facilitating access to employment, education, healthcare, commercial centres and pilgrimage destinations.
The service will further enable onward connectivity from Itarsi to major destinations across different parts of India.
The introduction of the new daily passenger train is expected to make travel more convenient and affordable for commuters and other passengers while strengthening the overall rail transport network in Madhya Pradesh.
