Sources told The Times of India that the fire started around 7.30 pm in the dialysis ward on the second floor of the hospital.

Fire fighters later brought the firer under control.

Odisha Chief Minister  Naveen Patnaik earlier in the day said he has ordered Revenue Divisional commissioner to enquire in to the incident.

"Visited Capital hospital to oversee treatment of evacuated patients from fire in private hospital in Bhubaneswar; condole loss of lives," the Chief Minister tweeted.

He also spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the mishap.
