Bengal: Raidighi MLA Debashree Roy quits Trinamool Congress

| @indiablooms | Mar 15, 2021, at 08:17 pm

Kolkata/IBNS: Trinamool Congress MLA from West Bengal's Raidighi, Debashree Roy, quit the ruling party on Monday.

Roy resigned days after she was denied tickets from any of 294 constituencies which will go to polls in eight phases from Mar 27 to Apr 29.

Earlier the actor-turned politician had expressed her wish not to contest the polls from Raidighi.

Roy is the latest politician to desert the Trinamool ahead of the high-octane polls.

After the resignation, it would be interesting to see whether she jumps to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the footsteps of various turncoats.
