Bengal: Congress candidate in Murshidabad's Samserganj, Md. Rezaul Haque, dies of Covid-19

Kolkata/IBNS: Congress candidate at Samserganj assembly seat in West Bengal's Murshidabad district, Md. Rezaul Haque aka Mantu Biswas, who had contracted Covid-19, died at a Kolkata hospital on Thursday morning, reports said.

According to reports, the Congress leader had tested positive for Covid-19 days ago and he was undergoing treatment in a Jangipur hospital in Murshidabad.

After Haque's health condition had deteriorated, he was shifted to a Kolkata hospital on Wednesday night and the Congress candidate breathed his last there at around 5 am on Thursday.

Polling in Samserganj is scheduled to be held on Apr 26.
