Bengal bypoll: Left-backed Congress candidate Bayron Biswas leads in Sagardighi

| @indiablooms | Mar 02, 2023, at 04:29 pm

Kolkata/IBNS: In what would upset the ruling Trinamool Congress, Left-backed Congress candidate Bayron Biswas is leading in West Bengal's Sagardighi assembly constituency, where byelection was held last month.

Biswas is reportedly leading in over 2,800 votes.

The Congress candidate is followed by Trinamool candidate Debashish Banerjee.

The seat was won by the Trinamool in the 2021 assembly elections.

If Biswas emerges as winner, the Congress will open its account in the assembly which only has Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and ISF as opposition parties.
