Mumbai/IBNS: The car parts dealer, who has been linked to the explosive-loaded SUV found near industrialist Mukesh Ambani's home here, had written a letter to Maharashtra Chief Minister, Home Minister and the Mumbai police chief, alleging harassment by police and journalists, according to media reports

Hiren Mansukh had sought police protection and legal action against his tormentors in the letter written on March 2. Days later, on Friday last, he was found dead near a creek near Mumbai, after he went missing the night before, police said, news agency ANI had reported.

The case has been transferred to Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), said Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, reported NDTV.

He had told the police that he had done the interiors of the car owned by one Sam Muteb and had only reported the car's theft. He had not returned the car to its owner as he was not paid for the work, Deshmukh said.

Meanwhile, CCTV footage showed Mansuk leaving his house on Thursday., the report said.

BJP Maharashtra has demanded that the case be handed over to National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Last week, an abandoned SUV with explosive materials was found near Mukesh Ambani's residence in Mumbai.

Hours later, a bomb disposal squad found 20 gelatin sticks -material used in explosives- besides a handwritten letter addressed to the Reliance chairman and Nita Ambani.

A day later, the police learnt that the SUV was stolen and that its owner lived in Vikhroli, another part of the city.

The car had some number plates and a Mumbai police spokesperson said the number plate of the SUV matched that of a car on Mukesh Ambani's security detail, said reports.

A man in a mask and a hoodie was seen parking the car on CCTV footage. However, he was not identified.

The police also saw CCTV footage of the car moving through the city, followed by an Innova car that is also being investigated.
