Banned tobacco products worth Rs 1 lakh seized in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 6 (UNI) The Cidco Police on Tuesday raided a house located in the Misarwadi locality here and seized banned tobacco products worth of Rs one lakh, police said in a statement on Wednesday.

According to the statement, a senior cop received a tip-off that one Basit Anasri is covertly selling banned tobacco products from his shop.

A man identified as Basit has been arrested and an intimation about the seized tobacco products have been sent to the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) Department, it said.

The FDA has registered a police case in this regard.
