Bangalore, Oct 25 (IBNS): The Bangalore Police on Saturday arrested a person in connection with the alleged rape of a three-year-old nursery student at a school in Bangalore.

The arrested person was identified as Gundappa.

Bangalore Police Commissioner MN Reddi tweeted: "Jalahalli Police Stn school child rape case:- we have arrested one accused Gundappa. Investigation continues."

Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah on Friday ordered the police to take action against a school in Bangalore where a three-year-old nursery student was allegedly raped on Tuesday, reports said.

A criminal case was registered against the school authorities. An attendant was detained and being interrogated by the investigating officers.

According to the police, the school was booked for running classes beyond the sanctioned limit. The school reportedly had licence to run only classes 1 to 6. But the school was allegedly running the nursery section and Class-VII illegally.

“Investigation is going on. I have told the police to take action against the institution," the CM said.
