Ayodha hosts Deepotsav, CM Yogi Adityanath attends

Ayodha, Oct 18 (IBNS): Choppers, chants of Jai Shri Rama and the spirit of festivity marked the beginning of the grand "Deepotsav" or Diwali celebrations in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodha town Wednesday.

Key political leaders, including Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath, were present in the town to be a part of the festivity.

The key moment of the evening was when actors, dressed as Lord Ram, Sita and Lakshman, arrived in a government chopper and landed on the banks of the river Saryu when the CM welcomed them with flowers and marigold garlands.

The entire act represented the mythical homecoming of Lord Ram after his victory over Ravana.

According to reports,  1.75 lakh earthen lamps will be lit for the evening aarti
which will be performed in the evening.

Speaking at the event, the CM said the aim of the programme was to show the world the grand Diwali celebration of Ayodha.

India is gearing up to celebrate Diwali this week.
