New Delhi, July 13 (IBNS): Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice, is rooting for arms possession by the dalit people for their safety, while blaming inter-caste marriages for the growing atrocities against the backward people.

In an interview  to the Hindustan Times, Athawale said, "The root of atrocities against the dalit people is inter-caste love and marriage. the upper-caste people do not like this at all."

Stating that the Sikhs are allowed to keep arms, he said the same should be allowed for dalit people for their protection.
