New Delhi, Aug 16 (IBNS): In a fresh medical bulletin, the New Delhi AIIMS on Thursday said the health condition of ailing former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee remained critical.

Vajpayee has been kept on life support.

His health condition worsened in last 24 hours.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu visited Vajpayee on Thursday morning.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also flying to the national capital to visit the former Prime Minister, media reports said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday evening visited Vajpayee in the hospital.

According to reports, the Prime Minister spent about 50 minutes in the hospital.

Delhi police has urged people to avoid all roads leading to the AIIMS, report said.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are also expected in the hospital, said media reports.

He is under the supervision of Dr Randeep Guleria, the Director of AIIMS, who has been his personal physician for decades.

Vajpayee, whose first term as the Prime Minister lasted only 13 days in 1996, was the Prime Minister from 1998 to 2004.
