Assembly poll results indicate 2019 General Elections: Mamata Banerjee

| @indiablooms | Dec 11, 2018, at 12:42 pm

New Delhi, Dec 11 (IBNS): Taking on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), whose assembly poll results across five Indian states are not impressive as per the latest trends, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee said the outcome is an indication of what will happen in 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

According to the latest trends shown by various news channels, the Congress is leading in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and competing hard with the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

Taking to Twitter, Mamata said the people of the states have rejected the BJP, the party which received opposition from the TMC chief for quite some time now.

She tweeted, "People voted against BJP. This is the people’s verdict and victory of the people of this country"

"Victory of democracy and victory against injustice, atrocities, destruction of institutions, misuse of agencies, no work for poor people , farmers, youth, Dalits, SC, ST, OBC, minorities and general caste," the Chief Minister added.

Terming people as the "man of the match", Mamata said: "Semifinal proves that BJP is nowhere in all the states. This is a real democratic indication of 2019 final match. Ultimately, people are always the ‘man of the match’ of democracy. My congrats to the winners"
