Assam youth marries dead girlfriend, says he will remain single all his life

Nagaon: At a time when the entire country is shocked following Shraddha Walker's brutal killing incident in Delhi, an Assam man's respect for his dead girlfriend has again reflected the purity of love.

In a video, which has gone viral on social media, 27-year-old Bitupan Tamuli – a resident of Sapmari area in Morigaon district- was seen getting married to his long-time girlfriend who passed away on Nov 19 at a private hospital in Guwahati.

The youth even pledged in front of the deceased that he will remain single all his life.

Bitupan Tamuli had a long-time relationship with 23-year-old Prarthana Bora.

She was a resident of Kachua area in Nagaon district.

The people, who gathered in Prarthana's house, became emotional when they saw Bitupan putting vermillion on his girlfriend's forehead.

Both were planning to get married in the coming days .

“We have been in a relationship for the last seven years. We were planning for marriage next year,” Bitupan Tamuli said.
