At that moment a police team led by DSP Sabita Das reached the area and brought us to Sadar police station for quizzing. Police released us the next day around 4 pm, but the lady DSP seized my driving licence and car registration documents. When I requested them to return my documents, an employee of the police station named Jyoti Khound told me that, I will get it if pay Rs 40,000. The employee also told that, if I do not pay the demanded money, then my driving licence will be cancelled,” the youth said in his complaint.

The youth further said alleged that this type of incidents happen regularly in Nagaon district and a section of police harasses many common people as well as demand money to dismiss cases.

On the other hand, the accused employee of Nagaon police station said that, he said all things as per instruction of the official.
