Assam: Three police personnel injured in grenade blast

Guwahati, Jan 28 (IBNS) : At least three police personnel were injured in a grenade blast incident and eight persons,including a brother of a Congress leader, were kidnapped in Assam’s Dima Hasao district on Wednesday night, officials said on Thursday.

According to reports, three police personnel were injured when miscreants lobbed a grenade targeting the security personnel who were engaged in security of a BJP leader in the hill district.

Police said that a miscreant group also fired targeting at the BJP leader's house.

The injured police personnel were rushed to Haflong civil hospital.

On other hand, a brother of a Congress leader and seven other persons were kidnapped by miscreants from Umrangso area in the district last night.

Security forces had launched operation at the hilly areas to trace the abducted persons.
