Assam Rifles recover drugs worth Rs 3 crore in Mizoram

Aizawl: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities, Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) 19 FIT and Excise &  Narcotics Department, recovered  667 grams heroin in general area  Hnahthial In Mizoram.

The operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles, 19 FIT & Excise &  Narcotics Department  based on specific information.

The value of the recovered heroin is estimated around Rs 3 crore.

The team had also detained one person. 

Ongoing smuggling of drugs is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar Border.

Assam Rifles, rightly christened as the ‘Sentinels of Northeast’ have continued their efforts against the smuggling activities in Mizoram.
