Assam Rifles nab arms dealer with illegal weapons in Nagaland

Guwahati, May 14 (IBNS): Assam Rifles apprehended an illegal arms dealer and seized arms in Nagaland on Monday. 

According to the reports, Medziphema battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an operation alongwith a police representative in general area Chumukdema.

During the operation, Assam Rifles troops apprehended an illegal arms dealer with weapons.

The arms dealer was identified as Zhovi.

The nabbed arms dealer revealed the details of the arms supplier following which the Assam Rifles troops apprehended Udit Gogoi from Virouzuma village, Chumukedima.

The recoveries from the operation included one  point 22 mm pistol with magazine and one live round of point 22mm ammunition.

The apprehendees along with recovered items were handed over to Chumukedima Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
