Assam Panchayat polls: 12 persons, including a pregnant woman, injured after CRPF vehicle rams into BJP office

Guwahati, Dec 5 (IBNS): At least 12 persons, including a pregnant woman, were injured when a CRPF vehicle ran over a temporary BJP office in Assam's Dhemaji district on Wednesday.

The vehicle immediately caught fire.

The incident took place at Betnihula village near Gogamukh while local people were busy in first phase of panchayat polls.

Locals alleged that, the driver of the CRPF vehicle was drunk, lost his control and hit the temporary BJP office.

The injured persons were rushed to hospital.

Tension gripped the area following the incident.
