Assam hitting politics of hatred out of the park: Congress leader Ripun Bora

| @indiablooms | Mar 29, 2021, at 08:37 pm

Guwahati/IBNS: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora on Monday said that, with the Assam assembly elections approaching the slog overs, things are becoming clear with each passing day.

"The kind of support we have received from the people of Assam is unparalleled. We went into this election and to the people with a positive outlook on Assam and focused completely on what we aim to deliver. The people have responded magnificently with ground reports indicating that the people have synchronously bestowed their trust in Congress’ 5 Guarantees,” Ripun Bora said.

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati Ripun Bora said that, the roots of the vision for this election stem deep into the Assamese identity.

"After experiencing the misgovernance and improvidence of the last 5 years, it was critical to have a comprehensive assessment of what Assam of the future desires from a government.

"A myopic view of Assam in the last 5 years by the BJP government has pushed the state back. In an endeavor to realize the Assam of the future, all our guarantees have been structured based on ground assessment, the future vision for Assam and after consultations with revered scholars and economists. Dr. Manmohan Singh who has been pivotal in all big financial transformations in the country has provided his approval on the feasibility and economics of our Guarantees,” Ripun Bora said.

He further said that, as part of our vision and turning it into reality, we want to adopt a proactive approach.

"Our Karyakartas have been working hard on the ground relaying the expectations of the people to us and communicating our vision to the people. The Congress government has always been about the people’s voice. Congress’ 5 guarantees are getting widespread support from people across all constituencies which is also evident from the high voter turnout in Phase 1 of the elections. The youth have shown an overwhelming support towards our job guarantee portal.

"There have been more than 1,75,000 registrations already. As part of our ongoing outreach programme- Job Conversations, we have had massive turnouts with 75,000 youth participating across 43 constituencies highlighting their current issues and their expectations. This shows how people want to associate themselves with our 5 Guarantees,” Bora said.

The APCC president further said, "We would like to assure the people of Assam that our ordeal for Assam of the Future will never cease. Your support is making us stronger with each passing day. Our interactions will not stop, our efforts will not stop, your voices will never be left unheard.

"We will replace the improvidence evident in governance in the last 5 years with prudent, effective and a government of the people.

Ripun Bora alleged that, the BJP party attempts to divert and deceive, the benefit of Assam and the Assamese people lies with the Congress’ Guarantees.

He appeals to the people of Assam to continue the momentum and hit politics of hatred, violence and divide out of the park.
