Guwahati, July 10 (IBNS): With the death 19 animals including an one horned rhinoceros, flood situation in Assam's Kaziranga National Park (KNP) worsened on Monday after flood waters inundated over 70 percent areas in the world heritage site.

To monitor the flood situation, the park authority has used drones in the park spread over an area of 500 km.

Assam forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma visited the national park and took stock the flood situation.

Brahma also visited several forest camps inside the park and took stock the overall situation.

The forest guards found a carcass of a male rhino, which died in the current flood inside the park.

On the other hand, vehicles on the National Highway 37 knocked down at least 18 hog deer in last three days.

Wild animals including one horned rhinos, buffalo, deer, elephants moved to higher lands and nearby Karbi Anglong hills area by crossing the highway  following the devastating flood.

Meanwhile, the state forest department and the park authority have introduced time cards in the highway to monitor the speed limit of all vehicles.
