Assam: Forest department rescues pangolin
Guwahati/IBNS: An Indian pangolin was rescued by North Kamrup Forest Division, Rangia with the help of WCCB, Guwahati on Saturday.
The operation in Barpeta was led by DFO himself which led to arrest of two persons and recovered the live pangolin from their possession.
The Op team led by Sunnydeo Choudhary, DFO, Hiten Borah Intelligence Assistant WCCB, Nabajit Barman, Field Assistant WCCB, Chandan Dutta, WPSI NGO.
Incidentally, Saturday was also World Pangolin Day observed on the “third Saturday of February” every year to to raise awareness of this endangered mammal.
