Assam flood: Over 42.86 lakh people of 30 districts affected, death toll rises to 15

Guwahati, Jul 15 (IBNS): The flood situation in Assam worsened with the death of 15 people.

Over 42.86 lakh people of 30 out of 33 districts of Assam area affected in the current flood.

According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the flood waters submerged 4157 villages and 113 revenue circles in the state.

On the other hand, four persons drowned flood waters in Goalpara, Morigaon, Nagaon and Hailakandi districts on Monday.

15 people have died due to flood and landslide in the state so far.

Following incessant rainfall, the Brahmaputra and its tributaries are flowing above danger level marks in many places in the state.
