Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma in Manipur

Imphal/UNI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived here on Saturday to discuss the Manipur situation with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh.

After a crisis which started at Churachandpur on May 3 during clashes between two ethnic groups over 110 people, three security personnel died, over 300 injured.

Over 3,000 houses were burnt while more than 45,000 homeless people still living in relief camps.

The government has announced about Rs 101 crore as relief measures.

The internet remained suspended since May 3 last.

As there was no report of violence during the last 24 hours, curfew was relaxed from 5 am to 6 pm on Saturday.

Highway remained blocked at Kangpokpi since the crisis started.
